These past few weeks have been exciting in anticipation of my little cousins wedding. This beautiful young lady was only a few months old at my wedding 23 years ago. I can’t believe how quickly time has passed On September 30th she had a beautiful and intimate bridal shower. I made the shower favors. So I am sharing what I used to make easy & minimalistic bridal shower favors.
I make cold process and melt and pour soap and candles so my cousin thought it would be a great idea to give those as favors. My cousin Nicole wanted a minimalistic look nothing to flashy or crazy. She decided she wanted 6 candle tins for those who won the fun shower games and she wanted small soaps to give everyone who attended.
After brainstorming I decided to use 4 oz candle tins and I used Avery on-line to make the labels that would go on the candle cover. I wont go into details about the candles because they are pretty simple to make. I get my candle supplies from The Flaming Candle store and I use soy wax. For the soaps I thought it would save me time if I went with melt and pour.
So I used glycerin and goats milk melt and pour soap, which I melted then added different shades of pink mica for color, fine cosmetic glitter and fragrance. I used a 12 cavity mold that makes 2.5 oz soaps. Like this X-Haibei Lingotto Rectangle Border Soap Cake Chocolate Muffin Cube Silicone Mold They were the perfect size. Next I had to figure out how to package the soaps. After looking through many different ideas on how to package soap I saw something on-line that caught my eye. I shared it with my cousin and she gave me the thumbs up to go with it.
We decided I would package the soaps in glassine bags and used a 3D Rose Party Pick as decoration. They looked so beautiful. Here is the link to the bags 100 – Flat Glassine Waxed Paper Bags – Medium Skinny (3-3/4″ X 6-1/4″) – (9.5 x 6.9 cm) and they flower picks were purchased on Etsy here http://etsy.me/2gfx5Xj
The shower was beautiful everyone enjoyed it. They loved the favors but most importantly the bride to be was thrilled and enjoyed herself very much. If anyone has any questions you can send me a message I will be sure to reply quickly.
