Finally A Better Nights Sleep. A Review of the Medcline Reflux Relief Pillow System by a Person With Parkinson’s

As a person with Parkinson’s Disease I suffer from multiple symptoms and side effects that come with the disease, but now I can say finally a better nights sleep. This is my review of the Medcline Reflux Relief Pillow System.  A few months back I got sick with a bad cold and I wound up at the emergency room.  I could not clear my throat and felt like I was choking.  Yes part of it was anxiety that caused me to go to the hospital but I was really congested and scared.  Anyhow I felt like I never recovered from that.  When I lay on my flat memory foam pillow I continued to have this sensation of having to clear my throat and swallow.  I felt like I was choking on my own phlegm sorry I know sounds gross but it’s my reality.  I was dealing with that symptom almost nightly and was very discouraged.

I also have an injured shoulder that I don’t even know how it got this bad and I’ve been dealing with that for about 2 months. My brother-in-law noticed an ad for the Medcline Pillow System on Facebook and wondered if it would help me.  Medcline Reflux Relief System is a pillow that includes the Advanced Positioning Wedge and the Therapeutic Body Pillow.

The components work together to provide natural reflux relief by means of helping you maintain the ideal incline position. They have even done 5 independent clinical trials that proved the pillow to be the most effective treatment for heartburn, regurgitation, coughing, choking, nausea, all symptoms I have experienced as a Parkinson’s patient.  The pillow system may also be helpful for shoulder pain relief, as the arm pocket takes pressure off the downside arm and shoulder. After emailing the company and reading more about it  I knew I had to try it.  Medcline graciously supplied me with their Pillow system and I have been using it for a few weeks now.  First the pillow comes in different sizes depending on your weight and height . All components of this pillow come with removable and washable covers.  I’m also happy to share that it was designed by a doctor. The body pillow is so soft and comfy I melted into it.  The wedge component not only inclines your neck and head but also your torso for maximum effectiveness This pillow does takes up 1/2 of a queen size bed as it it 30 inches wide.

The first night I used it I expected not get much sleep as is normal when switching pillows or at least in my experience.  Well that wasn’t the case at all.  I quickly fell asleep and slept pretty well that night.  I figured that it was just that I was extremely tired that night but no I continued to fall asleep every night. I love the cut outs on the sides of the wedge component in which you can slide your arm through.  I even stopped choking at night.  I switched to my regular pillow for 2 days  to test and the choking returned so its working very well.  If you are looking for a medication free solution to your GERD or Reflux this a great option.  I know I preferred not to add any additional medications to what I’m already taking.

Medcline has a 60 day guarantee so you can contact them within that time and they will refund your purchase price minus a 10% disposal fee.

If you are a person with Parkinson’s or someone who suffers from GERD/Reflux I highly recommend this pillow.  I feel so much better and I don’t have to fear choking during sleep. This is by far the best pillow I have ever owned.

  1. I suffer from GERD so I know exactly the feeling you’re talking about. I am definitely going to try this system! I have had so many bad nights- I’m ready to sleep again (without my mountain of 80,000 pillows)!! Thanks for sharing ❤️ Btw I also suffer from breathing induced anxiety issues and one other thing that helps me is the essential oil breathe diffused and/or applied with a carrier oil. It’s saved me through the last two winters!

  2. Great read. I shared this with a few of my co-workers that suffer from GERD. I’m happy to hear that it has helped you so much not just with the breathing but with your arm!

  3. Thanks for this article. I’m happy you found one that gives you comfort and makes you feel relaxed and safe. I have 2 fused vertebrae in my neck and find it difficult to support my head and neck with my current pillow. I also have nasal drip (back of throat) and at night I wake up since it chokes me sometimes. I may try it to see if it helps both conditions. Thanks again for sharing!

  4. I am so happy to hear that you are finally getting sleep. Sleep deprivation is one of the worst things for your health. I am going to try to afford this pillow because recently my acid reflux is really bad. I thank this company for helping you my previous daughter.

  5. This pillow looks amazing. I don’t have reflux but even just the idea of an arm socket and the body pillow look so comfy! It reminds me of the pregnancy body pillow I used except that one was not very supportive for my neck and shoulders. This one looks like it would support every body part well. Glad you found something that works well for you. A good nights sleep is so important!
